West Goes In A New Direction

rsz_kanye.jpg

Quick, what's the one thing you want from Kanye West? A new, spectacular album? No. Perhaps a free concert at Nathan Phillips Square? Wrong again. If you're being completely honest with yourself, what you really want is for Kanye West to start his own travel website. Who the hell needs Expedia anyway? Kanye's site has everything the big boys don't offer, like a low-resolution scan of his latest album's artwork splashed across the top of the page, and...well that's pretty much it for now, but that's something, right? Of course, these days celebrity endorsements are par for the course, regardless of how ineffective they may be.

Still, we feel honour-bound to give him some props, as he has personally hand-picked (or perhaps, personally delegated the hand-picking duties to a particularly worthy associate) the "Top 20 Featured Destinations: The Best Places On Earth." And guess who made the cut? That's right! Niagara Falls, New York. On the bright side, Toronto was also chosen as one of the featured destinations, and most of the other cities seem like places you might want to visit. So don't say 'Ye never did anything for you.

Kanye West is on par with Oasis. And we know what happened to their careers.

The entire site is powered by Travelocity - It's hardly newsworthy really...

I looked at the Niagara Falls page from Kanye's
website and most of the hotels were on our side of the border.

Gee whiz, if they can't get the jurisdiction right for most of the accommodation, I'd have to wonder about the rest of the information.

Another thought: Perhaps it is because of Niagara Falls airport and fares are determined to there rather another airport. That may be the reason for the New York and not Ontario label.

Inexplicably, the site claims that "Toronto is the fifth largest city in the world".

It also repeats the old myth that the UN dubbed us the world's most multicultural city.

Oh Kanye..
