The Rump Shaker: April 3–9

Local livetronica trio Chameleon Project celebrate their sophomore album ...if it takes all night with a two set-show at Revival on Friday. The instrumental group has undergone a number of changes since releasing their debut Stereoscopic five years ago. The new record features a stripped down sound and smooth guitar tones, which isn't surprising since their guitarist threw a Yacht Rock–themed party last year. Joining the group will be their ex-bassist Jamie Kidd, who since leaving the group has developed a name as the DJ with the dark beats.

No one's exactly sure what Southern mixtape king DJ Drama does. He's not exactly a producer and he often makes his presence felt on his own tracks with random shouting. Whatever it is he does, though, is working. He's associated with classic tracks by Outkast and Lil Wayne. He was also infamously arrested by the fuzz for selling illegal CDs, strangely at a time where he was working on his major label official mixtape. Despite the drama, the Atlanta-based DJ will be dropping by Tonic on Saturday as part of the club's Status Saturdays Celebriy Series. Get ready to make it rain.

Since opening a few months ago, LeVack Block has become a welcome addition to the Ossington strip as a place for dance parties. Tonight, its backroom will be welcoming underrated house DJ Maurice Fulton. While he is best known for helping produce Crystal Waters' 1990s hit "Gypsy Woman," Fulton has developed a reputation as a house music original. It's a great opportunity to see him do his thing in an intimate venue.
