The Waverley is a hell of a lot more than a "crackhouse," it's an important part of Canadian history. The Waverley is where Arthur Lucas stayed in 1961 before committing a double homicide in The Annex. Lucas, a Black man from Detroit, became one of the last two men hanged in Canada, along with Ronald Turpin.
