haha, delightful.
there's a tree up on the outside wall of varsity stadium that i really enjoy as well, i must remember to bring a camera with me sometime. they're growing back over the concrete.
OH MY GOD YOU'RE CONDONING CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF
sorry, the comments just didn't seem right without it, lol
Personally, it seems to me like the "Vandalist" columns so far have pretty much just been highlighting actual vandalism. People writing random phrases or their names (that Toivo chick especially comes to mind.. she vandalized my neighbour's garage) or that kinda thing just seems to me like pointless desecration. I assume that's what bothers a lot of people with this column..
This, on the other hand, is really cool. Hopefully we'll see more of the artistic side of TO's street art in this column. That whole area has so many awesome stencil pieces and pasteups and random stickers and otherwise interesting art. I'd love to see more.
You know, I really hate to give Montreal props for having anything over Toronto, but compare some of these to what we've seen so far in Vandalist. I think if the quality of images in this column doesn't improve, maybe it'd be best to discontinue it for the sake of our collective street art reputation.
Spacejack- Those all seemed to be legal street art, which is clearly a lot more worthwhile though these works haven't been so bad.
Maybe another column on removing mindless vandalism such as spraypainted scribbles could be started up.
I know I'm biased, but there's some beautiful street art of pigeons under a bridge north and west of downtown. I suspect it's of the legal variety, but it's the most amazing thing I've ever seen... sone birds are realistic and some pretty and abstract. I can't remember the exact coordinates, but you might want to hunt it down!
