Eric Warner has done it again! The man behind such endearing stories of booking concerts while still under-age, running an incredible independent label that just won’t stop, and being a soldier through those good ol’ days of Viking Club and Dollarama has just announced an ambitious lineup for this year’s Over The Top Festival. Equal parts film and music (with a hint of theatre), the festival spans five days from April 30 to May 4, and offers all events to all ages.

The film quotient of the festival features both local and international films, and a large portion of the screenings will involve a question and answer period with the filmmakers. It is with great buoyancy, however, that the festival announces the international premier of I Think We’re Alone Now, an American film by Sean Donnelly that contributes to discourse on stalking and celebrity obsessions by examining the lives of two Tiffany super-fans.

Musically the festival continues to grow, which is inspiring considering early installments of the festival have featured Grizzly Bear, Anni Rossi, Bob Wiseman, and Flosstradamus. This year the festival plays host to local staples such as The Creeping Nobodies, DD/MM/YYYY, and Ten Kens. Crossing the border for the festival are Chicago’s Singer, veteran Peter Walker, and Baltimore’s Wye Oak, to name a few. And requiring a space just a tad larger than Ukula or St. Stephens in the Field Church, Of Montreal’s Kevin Barnes (SAY WHAT?) and returning Over The Top Fest-er Peter and the Wolf will play the Mod Club on Sunday, May 4.

Each film and music event is individually priced—tickets are now available online but tangible tickets will be available March 25 at Rotate This and Soundscapes.
