Illustration Sunday: 197 King Street East
Recent renovations at the ROM and OCAD have been subject to much discussion, but there’s more to Toronto than contemporary architecture. Though often overlooked, there are a variety of interesting historical buildings to be found around town. Over the next few weeks, Illustration Sunday will show you some of these buildings.
Pictured above is the building situated at 197 King Street East, in an area known as Old Town Toronto. Featuring elaborate woodworking and brick patterns, it’s an elegant, older building.

You might want to ad a picture of the actual building.
If only the building in question looked as nice as it does in the illustration. I love this building, but it has been sadly neglected and looks in danger of falling apart. The door on the left hand side leads to "Beethoven Hall", but I've never seen anyone use that entrance (in fact, the upper floors looks abandoned from the street). Even the "antique store" on the first floor seems rarely, if ever, visited.
