We R In Need Of A Presidential Revolution

Wikked Little Grrrl
It’s Super Tuesday south of the border, and American politics are finally becoming interesting again rather than just depressing. The web is crowded with candidate support videos, and one of the oddest and most widely disseminated is “Yes We Can,” assembled by Black Eyed Pea will.i.am.
Distractingly overlaying an Obama speech onto a rootsy acoustic track, the video features appearances by fellow musicians Common and John Legend, but also Scarlett Johansson (who’s releasing an album) and Grey’s Anatomy‘s Kate Walsh. Aside from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s alarmingly gaunt look, the most surprising cameo is by former Torontonian Esthero (née Jenny-Bea Englishman), who turns in her trademark breezy voice and a somnambulistic power salute. Dukes up, baby, dukes up!

Not all that surprising really; she’s worked with Will.i.am in the past.

It’s true.. she did a song with the Black Eyed Peas back when they didn’t suck nearly as bad:

Also, I make today’s Photoist AND you use the word somnambulistic in this article. Wowsers! :)
    Cheers,

Cute girl, Esthero — it’s a pity her music is so terrible. “We R in Need of a Musical Revolution” is sooooo out of touch with what is already out there (and I’m not talking about fruity club music).

Someone did a pretty good parody of the will.i.am video, but with a McCain speech.
