After last month’s inaugural open-mic-esque short film program at the Revue was so chock-a-block full of awesome, Tim Bourgette and co. wasted no time looking ahead to a sequel. Thus, Drop Your Shorts 2 (electric boogaloo) opens for submissions this Sunday.

Toronto filmmakers, no matter their level of radness/awfulness/professionalism/lack thereof, are invited to throw down whatever artsy weirdness they have on back catalog for a public screening/execution on March 6.

Films can be any genre and nearly any format (though it’s encouraged to submit on DVD to ensure that the screening doesn't have a bajillion changeovers), but will only be accepted between the hours of noon and 1:30 p.m. this Sunday at the theatre. It's first-come, first-accepted. So get there early and you'll get a spot. Simple as that. Well, that and the $10 registration fee (which only serves to offset rental costs as well as admit you into the screening itself).

No real rules or guidelines exist other than the cinema's reminder that “it's referred to as your fifteen minutes of fame for a reason,” so entries are to be kept under that time to ensure they can show as many pieces as possible. The films will be randomly arranged into a blanket R-rated shmorgasbord of a 90-minute program to be unleashed onto the public for $2 a head on March 6.

So all you filmmaker types should go drop off your films on Sunday and the rest of you should go watch them on Thursday. Okay, cool.
