When New York City billionaire Leona Helmsley died in 2007, who inherited her $12-million trust fund?

If you said a white Maltese terrier named Trouble, you may want to tune in to CBC television at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20th for Test the Nation: Trivia. The quiz show, now in its third edition, pits in-audience teams against each other while viewers at home can play along via the interweb. Later, the national quiz results are posted to reveal who is the smartest: men vs. women, Ontario residents vs. Quebec residents, vegetarians vs. meat eaters, and so on. It's like Sociology and Jeopardy! got married and had a baby, man.

Representing a small corner of Team Bloggers are Torontoist staffers David Topping, Christopher Bird, Patrick Metzger, and Karen Whaley, four trivia masters determined to prove that bloggers aren't just emo kids and loudmouth politicos. Our rival teams are cab drivers, chefs, backpackers, flight crews, and celebrity lookalikes.

Though having our collective ass kicked at trivia by a Bono impersonator seems highly unlikely, we're glad to have a roster of blogosphere heavyweights on our side, like former Torontoist contributor and photoblogger Rannie Turingen aka photojunkie, John Martz from Drawn.ca, former Torontoist contributor Frank Yang from indie music blog Chromewaves.net, gossip columnist Lainey Liu of eTalk Daily, Craig Silverman of Regret the Error, and prom queen of the Canadian blog scene, Amber MacArthur. No word yet on if anyone from our team is a Reach for the Top alumnus, but we're crossing our fingers.
