Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee win the Iowa Democratic and Republican caucuses. The caucuses, which are the first real test for any American presidential candidate, delivered powerful margins of victory for both candidates. However, Iowa alone does not guarantee you the nomination—just ask 1992 Iowa caucus winner Tom Harkin.
Legendary Star sportswriter Milt Dunnell passes at 102. A great sports columnist, Dunnell will be missed.
Troubled Britney Spears taken to hospital because oh I don't care and neither do you.
New gas-fired power plant near the Leslie Street Spit scheduled to open in June. Because what a city really needs is more smog! Hey, whatever happened to those plans to make more windmills like the one at the CNE? The CNE windmill is awesome.
Finally, Newfoundland federal cabinet representative Loyola Hearn calls for a "truce" with Premier Danny Williams. Hearn insists that when he said knew everything happening in Williams' office as well as Williams did, he was just joking! It was a joke! Don't pay attention to that perfectly innocent ficus plant, by the way!

YAY BARACK!
Yeah, it's cool Barack won...I was kinda hoping for Edwards, but I'll take Barack too.
Huckabee...good grief, I never thought that someone would ever come close to making George Bush look smart, but Huckabee certainly tries...the guy is an idiot...and if this country falls for that "nice guy" routine...
I'm embarrassed to say I'm a bass player (as he insists on "jamming" wherever he goes)...and I hate that his name is the same as one of my favorite movies, "I (Heart) Huckabees".
The more he talks though, the more people will see what an idiotic religous nutjob he really is (hopefully).
The CNE wind tower awesome? Judging the times I've been near it, it's as loath to move in a positive direction as the Conservative Party of Canada. It's not really its fault, it's in a lousy location and isn't at a high enough height. You could put a string of them on the outer edge of the Toronto Islands I guess but no doubt the privileged few who live there would have something to say about it.
Find ways of putting wind generation higher up, like on the CN Tower and the Borat Tower (1 Bloor East), then we'll talk.
You can watch Barack's victory speech on YouTube (natch).
It's interesting...I live in the USSA, and I don't have cable TV, but after the primary (and I agree with you guys up there, our election process is f**ked up)...anyway,
I was watching Barack's speech on the BBC (who also mentioned how messed up our process is, the night after they did a report on how fat we are: - ).
All 4 other channels that I have (5 total, count `em, 5, baby) that had the "news" on, were'nt shoing his speech, so I found it funny that I had to watch a British news show to see his whole speech live (the colonists would've LOVED that one).
I like Edwards, I'm cool with Obama...just ANYONE but a Republican and especially that IDIOT Huckabee or that Mormo-facist Romney.
I'm an atheist/student of Buddhism..but,
pray for us Canada....pray for us.
