In every neighbourhood there is one dude who goes a bit overboard with the Christmas lights. It's the stuff of bad Christmas movies. But few go quite as far as the Lindsay family, who seem to be trying their best to outdo the ZooTV tour.

Every year since 2000, the Thornhill family has dressed up their home with a bigger and better light show. The lawn lights are buried under snow right now, but in total there are 80,000 lights (mostly LEDs) blinking away—and that's not all. No, if you drive up to their house and tune your radio to 104.9 FM, you can hear the music to which the elaborate light show is synchronized—just like at the drive-in!

This year there are two routines, one synced to music from Pirates of the Caribbean and the other to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

The Linday Lights website even has all the tech information laid out in the unlikely event you have the time and skill to do your own production. We figure that we could probably produce a PC to handle the actual show, but the way they've wired their house to handle the extra 30,000 watts of juice is enough to convince us to leave it to the professionals (Andrew Lindsay and his brother, Martin, are both engineers) and their team of volunteers.

The show runs from 5 to 9 p.m. (11 p.m. on weekends) until January 5, so have a gander. Be warned 416-lovers: You will have to cross Steeles into the 905 to see the house, so have your papers in order and make sure to declare any goods at the border.

Oh, and there is also a donation box, which has collected more than $42,000 for various charities over the years. You can donate online if it is too much of a trek for you to make.
