Elec-Tronna

Do you love the music of Daft Punk? Perhaps you hate it. Whatever your feelings on their music, we all know it's better without Kanye West shouting pointlessly over the top.
Er, actually, we meant for that sentence to go: whatever your feelings on their music, you might be interested in seeing Daft Punk’s new film, Electroma, which will be screening at midnight, December 7, at the Royal Theatre (608 College Street) as it doesn’t have any of their music in it—at all.
Instead, the aural texture to the experimental art film, which tells the story of two robots on a quest to become human, comes from artists including Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno and Curtis Mayfield.
So! Daft Punk fan or not, if you are interested in seeing Electroma at its midnight screening, we have one pair of tickets to give away to a randomly selected reader who e-mails us, gives their full name, and tells us if they like Daft Punk or not (and why, if they’re feeling up to it). The contest closes at midnight on December 5, and the winner will be notified the day after. [Note: The contest is now closed. Thanks to everyone who entered!]

Man, when I finally heard that Kanye West song after listening to everyone rave about how good it was, I was like, "Ummm, why is he talking over a perfectly good Daft Punk song?"
LAME.
I saw the trailer for this before Heima, but I won't be in town. :/
Karen, you know I love you (I've told you that, right?), but I cannot abide you siding with Kumar on this one. And to think I was going to ask you to be my black Kate Moss.
Chris, I can't be your black Kate Moss tonight. That Daft Punk has a special spot in my heart, and Kanye stomped all over it!
As big a fan of Daft Punk as I am, Electroma truly is a bigger test of one's patience than their last album.
