Dancing With The Kids (and Andy Warhol)

2007_12_14Bunch_dance.jpgAndy Warhol's Factory parties were the ultimate hot spot for an elite cabal of celebrities, radicals, drag queens and porn stars. There has never been a better place to rock out while on an amphetamine high amid mass-produced silkscreen paintings and a fleet of floating silver balloons.

Now, just replace Warhol's notorious gang of New York vagabonds with a bunch of over-stimulated children, and you have the idea behind Bunch's next edition of their popular Family Dance Party series. As a part of WinterCity 2008, Bunch is taking over CiRCA for an afternoon and inviting the hippest kids in town (along with their parents) to relive the fabulousness of The Factory.

When they are not rocking hard, kids will be free to explore art installations throughout the building, including an interactive art experience in CiRCA's Cinema Lounge that is being put together by Newmindspace. According to Bunch, the party is apparently being hosted by Andy Warhol himself. This is good news for Toronto's kids, who don't like to go more than a month or so between incidents of being freaked out by an actor in a white wig.

The fabulousness happens Sunday, February 3rd from 2–5 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids (under-twos get in free). Tickets can be purchased online at www.bunchfamily.ca

Bunch's events are popular, so buy your tickets early to avoid destroying your kids' dreams of partying like Lou Reed.

I've been to two Bunch events and they are fantastic. Its great news they'll be doing a party at CiRCA, it will be a lot of fun.

I can't wait to help with a truly all-ages dance party! Aww!
