Karim Rashid: From 15 Minutes into the Future

While you may not know who Karim Rashid is, chances are you have a few pieces of this stellar designer’s work in your home. And while you can see some of his more popular items at your local Canadian Tire retailer, it’s at OCAD where you will find his favourites. From 15 Minutes into the Future is an intimate look at a selection of Rashid’s work, including custom-designed ceiling and wall treatments created especially for the gallery and the exhibition. It’s also a great place to feel like an over-indulgent art collector, as you will tend to realize how many of Rashid’s Garbino garbage cans you own. And if you don't own a Garbino? The Umbra Concept Store is conveniently located around the corner from OCAD at 165 John Street, where you can purchase many of Rashid's fun, colourful pieces.

From 15 Minutes into the Future is located on the second floor of OCAD, and will run until January 20. The best time to go is when it opens daily at 1 p.m. You'll have the whole gallery to yourself.
