FC Sells Out, Mulroney Wants To Go Public, And Help Britain Come Up With A New Motto, Everybody
Toronto FC sells out of season tickets for 2008. In response, the club promised they will try "really, really hard" to win at least one more game this season. The team's lawyers then pointed out that this was in no way a guarantee and that season ticket holders should feel privileged to be allowed to watch the game.
Brian Mulroney wants a public inquiry into his scandal rather than an independent review. The last act of a desperate honest man, or Mulroney's way of saying "if I go down I'm taking other people with me, dammit"—either way it looks to be interesting.
A new health study shows that residents of Port Hope have been contaminated with radioactive chemicals. Amazingly, the federal government had no interest in conducting this study, so the residents of Port Hope had to do it themselves. Torontoist knows—you're shocked! Shocked, we say!
Finally, Britain has public contest for new national motto. Just in case you thought Canada was the only country in the world with a severe inferiority complex.
