Springloaded Are Go!

Springloaded123_11_2007.jpg When New York punks Leftover Crack were denied entry into the country last week (something to do with criminal records), East Vancouver's The Rebel Spell opted not to give up and salvaged the tour, making their way across this fine land in true DIY punk fashion. This weekend finds the band in Toronto, trading a show at all ages mega-complex The Reverb for the way punker Siesta Neveaux. Located at 15 Lower Sherbourne, there isn't a better place in this city to watch some proper, gritty punk rock.

The lineup for the show that's been put together for their visit to Hogtown is a pretty fine mix of some of this city's best punk bands (that aren't this band or this band); EndProgram, The Fallout, and Springloaded (pictured).

Mixing Screeching Weasel-style pop punk with an aggressive thrash sensibility (can you have "thrash sensibility"?), Springloaded are slowly working their way up this city's hard-to-climb punk rock ladder; this Sunday, November 25 would probably be a great time to check them out (in a venue that perfectly suits their sound). The show is a matinee, so get there early.

Oh shit I didn't know Leftover Crack got turned away (not surprising, however). Good thing I didn't buy tickets to that...
