Toronto Has Bad Streets, And They Should Be Naked According To This Dutch Guy, And Also The Leafs Lost Their Season Opener (Shocking, We Know)
Toronto places three roads in the province's worst twenty streets. Steeles placed fifth, Bathurst ninth and Dufferin twelfth in the survey of the worst-maintained roads in Ontario. That having been said, be glad you don't have to drive in Sudbury (first, third, eighth and tenth). Take THAT, Sudbury!
Dutch traffic planner says Toronto needs "naked streets." By which he means downtown core streets with no speed limits, traffic signals or curbs. Pick your joke: 1.) That works fine in Europe, but has he met Toronto drivers? 2.) Without traffic lights, how will drivers know when to speed up? or 3.) What is it with the Dutch and nudity anyway?
Dalton McGuinty promises to ban trans-fats foods in schools. This is actually a good idea, so what is it doing in an election campaign?
More than two thousand trapped South African gold miners rescued. In one night, too. So the South Africans are clearly in the forefront of the rescuing-miners race.
And the Leafs lost their season opener 4 to 3 against the Ottawa Senators. Predictably, the Star is running a "well the good news is that we gave them a fight" series of articles.

Yeah, well whoever redid the streetcar tracks on Dundas between Spadina and Bellwoods should be taken out and beaten behind the shed.
The brand new pavement on each side of the streetcar tracks is horribly uneven. Try riding your bike on it - it's bumpy as all hell. It's shit workmanship.
I have happy that I don't drive in Sudbury, but I am even happier that I don't drive anywhere.
I'm willingly letting me license expire next month.
Re The Dutch: An even better idea would be some pedestrian only streets.
Man, these get better every day. Keep it up and you could write the news jokes for the Late Show.
Note to TTC - you were wondering why people fought so hard on St Clair and will undoubtedly fight the transit city lines? Post @1 is why. If you give people shoddy workmanship to compare against, that's what they'll expect in the future.
Don't give up your driver's license!
It's hard to get a new one.
