Dion Decides, Rabbi Rapped, Bush Buddhist

news_17Oct07.jpgThe Stephen Harper government unveiled its plan for the country in the Throne Speech last night, emphasizing the usual panoply of tax-cuttin', crime fightin', environment dismissin' Conservative virtues. Jack Layton and Gilles Duceppe have already stated they will not support the government, while Liberal leader Stéphane Dion will decide whether to force an election after consulting with his caucus. Dion is envied by the other opposition leaders for his massive caucus.

Water prices for Toronto homeowners will rise about 9% next year, while large industrial customers may see their rates drop by 13% in an effort to "attract and retain" high volume users. Remember, kids: wasted water is cheap water.

A Toronto synagogue and rabbi have agreed to an out-of-court settlement with two women over allegations of sexual misconduct. U.S. President George W. Bush is in hot water with the Chinese government for hosting the Dalai Lama at the White House. The Chinese, while angry because the visit appears to support the movement for Tibetan autonomy, have not yet threatened to call in their loans and take ownership of the United States. Also, the Dalai Lama is reported to have said that he and GWB "developed a close friendship," which is weird.

George W. Bush isn't worthy to be in the same room with the Dalai Lama.

I don't see what they could possibly have to talk about.

DL: "World peace!"

GW: "Endless war!"

The Dalai Lama must be truly all-loving. Theres' just no other explanation.

Hm. Maybe they're buddies because the Dalai Lama believes in a simpler life and GWB is just plain simple?

Yeah, I don't get how a mass murderer like George Bush, who is a member of a crime family dynasty can look someone like the Dalai Lama in the eyes.
But yeah, HH The Dalai Lama must be one all-loving, forgiving person...maybe that's the true test, to sit in a room with a monster like GWB.

"well, thank ye there Mr. Lama....I uh...I wanna assure you, I don't plan on bombing your' home country....uh...there's no oil there, right?"
