There's an old cliché that says everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day. It follows, then, that everyone is goth on Halloween .

If you’re going to be exploring your inner goth anyway, you may as well go hog wild and get your little black-clad tuchus down to the fourth edition of EBM Fest at The Reverb (651 Queen Street West) on October 28, where the folks who live Halloween every day will be rocking out to some bad-ass robot love songs.

This year’s Fest will act as a showcase for soon-to-be-defunct German EBM überlabel Dependent, with three of the fest's four acts coming from Dependent's roster. The show will be headlined by Dependent’s crown jewel, the progressive-trance-inspired German futurepopsters Rotersand.

Californian Frontline Assembly enthusiasts Dismantled will be coming up with their barrage of heavy beats and creepy samples. While you’re grooving to their creepy drill-like sounds, let your mind be blown by the fact that frontman Gary Zon also heads up The Faint-esque disco punk outfit Aerodrone and plays in female-fronted synth-pop group no.not.never.

Local representation comes from Fractured, a band that’s well known in Germany but under-loved at home. Best known for storming the German Alternative Charts in late 2005 with their full-length debut Only Human Remains, Fractured frontman Nick Gorman and his rotating cast of backers hope their sound can win over domestic crowds the same way they do those on the other side of the Atlantic.

Weirdly political St. Catharines-based EBM stalwarts MDM will be rounding out the bill, and local goth about town DJ Lazarus will be holding it down between sets.
