Stephen Harper pledges $40 million to polar research. Forty million dollars? That will buy an entire research station! By 2015, we will have turned drowned polar bears into a renewable energy source!
Electioneering party leaders promise to get tough on street racing. Most impressive: Howard Hampton's promise to bring back photo radar. Yes, Howard. That will get the NDP lots of votes.
Peter Mackay calls Liberal MP's trip to Afghanistan a "stunt." However, when Stephen Harper goes to Afghanistan for no good reason worth mentioning, that's "getting the message out."
CAW predicts $8 billion automotive trade deficit this year. Which is bad, in case you did not know that.
David Miller says Toronto simply does not have the capacity to handle the increasing number of refugee claims. Rapidly increasing numbers of Mexican citizens are emigrating here and claiming refugee status, mostly because they don't feel safe in the United States any more. However, if Toronto were to get one cent of every dollar, et cetera... (Except that that campaign ended up costing the city money.)
And the fucking Yankees managed to not get swept out of the playoffs. Go, Cleveland! Kill them! Kill them and then kill their mothers!

I wouldn`t call it a stunt, or anything for that matter. However, I do believe there is a difference between the leader of the country visiting troops and opposition MP`s doing it.
>when Stephen Harper goes to Afghanistan
And wears that awful khaki vest
Did I miss the Liberals saying they'd immediately bring back troops from Afghanistan or something? Or is only the ruling party allowed to, you know, represent Canadians?
In the US plenty of Democrats have been allowed to go to Iraq and Afstan and use it to go after Bush. Any MP who wants to should have travel provided by the CF. Remember this mission is a multi-billion dollar public expense!
Good for the NDP re photo radar.
