Fantaisie

Finally, another excuse to write about La Blogothèque's Take-Away Shows. The last time we covered the France-based music filmmakers, they were psyching us up for the Arcade Fire's May concert with the best concert footage we've ever seen of the band. Before that, they won us over with The Hidden Cameras parading along boardwalks. Now they've given us Owen Pallett plucking away at two songs––"Your Light Is Spent" (above) and "Horsetail Feathers"––in Paris. If you've always wanted to hear "Your Light Is Spent" sung by an out-of-breath Owen running down a Paris street to avoid the noise from traffic, consider your wish fulfilled.

If you're up for some non-Toronto content to kill a few hours, there's plenty more good stuff on their site to suit your needs, from Menomena (playing here in November!) to Andrew Bird (playing here next Tuesday!) to Okkervil River (playing here this Friday!) to The Shins to The National (playing here in October!), and most everything––at least everything indie and well-liked––in-between.

Thanks to the torture garden for the news.

the national performance in what looks like a medieval French basement is simply amazing with everyone around the table adding percussions to the song using whatever they have in their hand.

Love Owen, but did the dude in the epicerie say that he had "un super-cool outfit?" Je ne sais pas en ce qui concerne sa chemise...

Hm yeah much love for Mr. Pallett.
