Populist: September 24–30
We publish a lot of articles on Torontoist, and sometimes it’s hard to keep up. Populist is a weekly recap, appearing every Sunday night, that features some of the coolest, most interesting, most commented, and most recommended posts from our past week.

- David Topping hung out at the Polaris Prize Gala, and got some shots of the night’s festivities. Sure, Feist and the Arcade Fire probably had the two best albums, but that’s what you get for not showing up. He also featured a lovely photo of Yonge Street as Monday’s Daily Photoist (this week’s most recommended post).
- Christopher Bird kinda-sorta-maybe-liveblogged the MMP debate. (He wrote the article as it was going on, then posted it after. It’s like the same thing.)
- Jamie Bradburn went back…to the past!…and checked out CityTV’s exciting debut some thirty-five years ago. It must’ve been one hell of a night: Casanova! And then, a repeat of Casanova!
- Malcolm Davidson interviewed Sheila Heti.
- Stephen Johns wondered about The Sun‘s hard-on for hating Mats Sundin.
- Johnnie Walker doesn’t like Fort York, but does quite like The Fort at York, so it all kind of balances out.
- Beth Bohnert looked at some other Toronto art gallery other than the ROM undergoing changes. It’s called the “AGO” or something.
- Marc Lostracco checked out the National Post‘s redesign! The bar that was on the top is now on the left! And the kerning and line spacing is different!
- Julie Reitsma tried to find the city’s best delivery pizza (this week’s most commented post).
- Tony Makepeace continued his lovely Panoramaists with a spin ’round the Distillery District.
- Mathew Katz turned Policy Monday’s swollen, itchy, and squinting eyes to health!
