Hope For Bubble Boy, Harper Says No Money For Toronto, And Kensington Market Almost Burns Down (But Doesn't)

GTA "bubble boy" has new hope after new experimental gene therapy. The donor: a very surprised Jerry Seinfeld.

Dalton McGuinty challenges John Tory to explain where Tory will find $1.5 billion in budget cuts. Which is a good point, and begs the question why he didn't ask that, you know, at the debate.

Shocking: Stephen Harper promises tax cuts. The government has a nearly $14 billion surplus this year, but it looks like Toronto isn't getting any money, due to the Harper strategy of "Don't Vote For Us And You Don't Get Any Money, Suckers."

Kensington Market nearly burns down. Thankfully, the fire department rallied and worked extensively, and now the city's cockroach population celebrates.

And finally, the Jays couldn't beat the Orioles last night.

Re: Kensington fire:
Scary. And one eery photo.

"Moors!"
"Moops!!"

I kind of prefer it to the Liberal strategy of "Vote For Us Four Times—Consecutively—And You Still Don't Get Any Money, Suckers". The Tories imply it may change, at some point, while the Liberal strategy was a literal Catch-22.

Is that what was going on last night. I was in my apartment a couple of blocks east of Kensington thinking, "Someone's got their fireplace going! I can smell the woodsmoke!"

Toronto should secede. We will never get a fair share of our tax dollars.

Chris, the Liberals simply continued the grand tradition of politicians being negligent and/or dishonest. The Tories are going beyond that into outright malignancy, treating political support as a price for budgetary aid, which is both disgusting and shockingly antidemocratic.

Chris, you are a funny guy. I tend to look on consistent negligence and dishonesty as outright malignancy. Stan Koebel of Walkerton would be a good example. Chuck Guité would be another. And any one of numerous parents who starve their infants and fail to give them the necessities of life.

But by all means, continue to see negligence and dishonesty as de rigeur when executed by cuddly Liberals, and an affront to democracy when Conservatives are involved.
