Delicious Candy Plays Final Toronto Show!

Sourkeyss09_26_2007.jpg While they may not technically be Toronto residents, The Sourkeys still hold a special place in the heart of this city. And really, Waterloo’s just not that far away. Which is why the band’s final Toronto show, this Thursday, September 27, will be an important one to catch.

Producing weird, aggressive, yelp-y music since 2001, the band’s track record of one amazing full-length, an awesome split 7" with the (sorely missed) Vermicious Knid, and an even more aggressive and still totally badical EP, is a hard one to beat. Their blend of Fugazi-like rhythmic patterns and total wall-of-sound freak-outs made songs like "Demon or Deity" (which you should probably listen to on their MySpace page right now) the kind of small-scene hit that dreams, t-shirts, and Blocks Recording Club releases are made of.

The night will also feature the angular, experimental styles of locals DD/MM/YYYY, whom Torontoist already knows are totally awesome, and Baltimore’s Video Hippos, whose absolutely great band name is almost as good as their dancy hipster-rock.
