A Harder Better Faster Stronger Way

cutbacksmap.jpg
When the TTC started mapping out its new future under Adam Giambrone, this probably wasn’t what it had in mind.
A few hours ago, Ian Trider left a comment on Jonathan Goldsbie’s post about the TTC’s survey, with a link to a TTC map that reflects the potential cutbacks. We’ve seen a fair share of TTC maps, from a superb Google Maps mashup to a glorious anagrammed subway line. Trider’s map is simple, effective, and dramatic, making a strange companion piece to the TTC’s own Transit City map. If the TTC is looking for something to scare Torontonians with, something like this could probably do the trick rather nicely.

Why do comments so often disappear on this site?

The writing is faint as it is .. you are almost gone already ..

Ian left a comment after I first published the post saying that he made a few mistakes on the map. But he quickly made an improved version of the map with those mistakes corrected, sent me a link to that map, and I updated the post with a link to it. His comment was then unpublished, with his permission.
And comments don’t “so often disappear”––on average, only about 1 in every 100 is unpublished, and there are a ton of valid reasons for their removal (a violation of our comment policy, which we are pretty lenient about enforcing anyway; an error that the comment points out is corrected; etc.). If you have a commenting account, we try to e-mail the writers to let them know if there’s any kind of problem.
    Hope that clears that up.

If you’re complaining about the “faintness” of the text, then maybe you should try registering yourself with the site – “Guest” entries appear as light grey.
