Let's Not Get Lost At The Ex, Stelco Bought By Americans, and You Will Have To Wait An Additional Six Months to Hear "Love Cats" Live

The CNE adds "you are here" stickers to its guide maps. No, really. Apparently this is a news story. And you thought journalism was hard and required a degree or something.

Missisauga sci-fi author Robert. J. Sawyer wins a Galaxy award at the China International Science Fiction and Fantasy Festival. The author of such excellent books as Far-Seer and Hominids said how science fiction is wonderful because it transcends language and culture and tyrannical governments with no concern for human rights. Well, not that last bit.

Stelco to be purchased by U.S. Steel. This is the 487th major Canadian corporation to be bought out by foreign concerns in the last week. Well, no, not really, but it sure feels that way.

Provincial Tories complain that the Working Families Coalition is just a Liberal front. Their evidence: the Working Families Coalition doesn't like the Tories, so an investigation of collusion is clearly required. Torontoist understands its investigation is coming in about two months!

The Cure delays their North American tour, including Toronto dates, until spring of 2008. (We mentioned this in Saturday's Superfluist, too.) The actual press release reads "we want to finish our new album / la la la la la, la la la la / it'll be like all the others / da da da da da, da da da da."

And the Toronto FC had another bad weekend. Most interesting: our sports media manages to continually remain surprised that a first-year expansion team is doing poorly. Because that never happens.

right, because the cure's albums are obviously all the same..... ???

Christopher Bird - they have a little bit more than what the CBC reported:

Those Working Families Coalition TV spots that just started running are hideous. They probably paid a fortune for those atrocious production values, and that's sad.

Wow, that commercial sucks. The writing is so vague you could subtract a word and make it pro-Tory. If the Libs really paid for it, they got screwed.
