jacksoul Singer In Critical Condition Following Crash

haydainneale_crash.jpg
Haydain Neale, 36-year-old singer of Toronto-based band jacksoul, is in hospital in critical condition following a vehicle accident on Friday evening at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Kennedy Road [map].
The performer’s injuries are serious, but he remains stable. His family has requested that details of his injuries and the hospital he has been admitted to remain private.
Hamilton-born Neale currently lives in The Beaches with his wife and daughter, and won a Juno Award this year for R&B Soul Recording of the Year. Messages of support can be directed to getwellhaydain@gmail.com.
UPDATE (September 10): A 20-year old Toronto man has been charged with Turn Not In Safety relating to the accident, where Neale’s Vespa scooter collided with the man’s Honda Civic.

Wow, that sucks. Not a huge fan, but certainly a talented singer and performer. And from all accounts, a really sincere and nice guy. Hope he pulls through.

His family can request all the privacy it wants, but Neale is a public figure and we can ask questions.
And the first question you should ask when anyone, at all, whether musician or cop or candlestick maker, is injured or killed in a motor-vehicle collision is:
    Seatbelt or no seatbelt?

I believe he drives a moped, so that might be a reason behind the extensive injuries.

I met him recently – he told me some funny stories and we had a good laugh. I hope he pulls through.
