Free Samples At The RCM

2007_11_08piano.jpgGot a violin that's collecting dust in your closet? An itch in your throat that can only be satisfied through loud, boisterous singing? Or perhaps you've been wondering if you should integrate your child into the wonderful world of eurhythmics. Whatever the musical-maladie, if nothing but music notes have been bouncing in your head, you might want to consider taking advantage of some free sample classes at the Royal Conservatory of Music Community School.

Situated at 90 Croatia Street, the RCM Community School is one of the largest community-based music schools in North America—and was once home to some notable musicians: Glenn Gould and Bruce Cockburn. Although recognized for its Early Childhood Education programs, the RCM Community School caters to students of all ages and levels. A sample class day is offered in the summer to encourage prospective students.

From 1–4 p.m. on August 25, the RCM Community School will offer sample classes ranging from information sessions on private lessons to DJ fundamentals and beat production to traditional Canadian fiddling. The schedule is subject to change, so you can keep an eye on it here. Since free stuff is always awesome, don't forget to RSVP at communityschool@rcmusic.ca by August 22. Refer to the schedule for detailed requirements.
