Cutting Edge Music Festival This Weekend

Thousands of Torontonians are expected to head to the Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario this weekend to attend the Cutting Edge Music Festival. Featuring names like Alexisonfire, MSTRKRFT, illScarlett, and Moneen, the all-ages, BYOB festival represents the evolution of last year's Cutting Edge stage at WEMF 2006.

The inaugural festival, which runs from this Friday, August 3rd to Monday, should be another interesting experiment in combining the often dissonant sounds of what's being dubbed "cutting edge rock" with "cutting edge dance music" and the culture clash that will inevitably follow such a mix.

The dance music tent, hosted by Destiny and Projek, featuring Jelo, OS/2, Rex Manning and Wendy Law, is a blend of house, trance, techno and jungle that will be booming all weekend long, rain or shine.

The festival's complete lineup and information is available on the Cutting Edge website.

I got confused by this post and thought that the programming for this festival was "cutting edge" but then I realized that it was just the name of the event.

i never would have thought of Ill Scarlet as "cutting edge".
