The Daily Photoist: Pirates Of The Korean
Every weekday, we pick an image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!
A decade ago the puffy shirt certainly wouldn't have registered in the fashion world. But with pirates everywhere and popular culture often inspiring the clothing we wear, it seems inevitable that it would sneak in. The themed outfit of the modern pirate photographed by SirCharlie is very curious and well thought out, even down to the classic stripes. Casually waiting, perhaps her crew is joining her to be the scourge of the Five Great Lakes.

Black and white striped shirts like that are really popular in Korea, in fact. Them, Dickies, and "World Without Strangers" shirts are the uniforms of the under-30 crowd.
