Every weekday, we pick an image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!
Other than the obviously awesome perspective, there are a few other parts of this photo by UrticaDioica that really makes us take notice. The cool turquoise tones dappled into the rock surface set off the strong sapphire in his pants and the intense blue of his eyes. All the angles in the climber's body are undoubtedly part of the nature of the sport, but there is a slight effortlessness characterized in it that nearly makes it seem as if he's a spider just climbing along a web. His tight-lipped facial expression certainly adds to this, although perhaps he's feigning it for the photo and after it was taken he burst into a grimace for the rest of the climb.
