Fringeist: Jimmy Hogg has an Impressive C.V.

2007_07_07Curriculumvitae.jpg Jimmy Hogg's one-man show Curriculum Vitae is charming, hilarious and remarkably energetic. He begins the show in a dressing gown and with a cup of coffee and, over the course of an hour, proceeds to get dressed and ready for a job interview, all the while detailing the amusing circumstances of his previous employment with comic aplomb.

As we mentioned previously, there is some similarity in subject matter between this show and Fringe phenom TJ Dawe's hit The Slipknot, but the delivery is entirely different. Jimmy Hogg's controls the stage through absolute manic energy, often veering away from his subject matter intensely with Eddie Izzard-esque tangents about Steve Guttenberg and Replicants. And as if he hadn't already entirely won over the audience, when the show is done, he does the most adorable thing ever and reads a list of other Fringe shows that he likes and thinks you should see. So cute!

Obviously, this show is highly worth seeing, but be warned: on opening night, it was entirely sold out, which is a good sign for Mr. Hogg, but means you'll want to show up at least an hour before the show if you want to secure tickets.
