For those of you with Rock Star ambitions but who were cursed with about as much musical talent as a pile of dirt, you are in luck. It's time for the Canadian Air Guitar Championships, and you know you're going to want to check this out for yourself.

If you've never heard of air guitar, then you have lived a sheltered life. Air guitar is the combination of rock and roll and mime, as people strum and twang invisible guitars while lip synching and acting crazy. Regional competitions have been taking place all over Canada, and the winners will meet here in Toronto on July 27 to strut their stuff at Lee's Palace. What's at stake? Well, besides dignity, the winner at Lee's will be shipped off to Finland to represent Canada at the 12th annual Air Guitar World Championships.

If this is the first you've heard of it, have no fear. There are a few spots available for non-qualifiers to join the competition. You can register on the website, but be sure to act fast, as spaces are very limited.

Just want to watch the show go down? Tickets are available from Ticketmaster, Rotate This, and Soundscapes. They're $8 a pop, and the show starts at 9 p.m.
