Cause we're all about photos of Toronto from airplanes, we were super-pleased when reader Timofey Yuriev sent us these shots, taken yesterday as he flew around the city from the Island Airport. So pretty—clear, deep blue sky with only the slightest traces of clouds, and a strangely-empty-looking Toronto below. Click any of the images to view them larger.

It was a fascinating experience to fly above such a gorgeous, magnificent city! I met great guys in Island Air Flight School and I would recommend it to anyone to try least once.

Wow! The shades of blue in the photos are remarkable. My favourite is the last shot with the wispy sweeps of cloud in the sky.
Thanks for sharing!
My favourite is the Laurie Anderson allusion in the title of this article. Or at least Wilco.
Thank you Phoenix! And our lake creates amazing clouds; I can never get tired watching them - fascinating!
Timofey, I saw these yeasturday on CityNews at 6" They mentioned your name and all.
Timofey, you are an incredibly talented and inspiring photographer! You have a great eye for composition and your skill is amazing. Thank you!
And people say the city's ugly. Liars.
Toronto is very pretty city. You just have to know where to focus.
