Toronto's Environmental Strategy, Local Restaurant Chain Promotes Local Produce, "Driftwood Crotchers"?

Would road tolls on the Gardiner and DVP discourage car use and help prevent climate change? How about banning leaf blowers and gas mowers? Toronto City Council discusses the city's long term environmental plan.
"Il Fornello launches Ontario-only menu." This means that you can only eat there if you're from Ontario. Or that they only serve Ontario-themed dishes (Sarnia Sausages, Presqu'ile Parmigiana?). Actually, it means that eight of Il Fornello's nine locations will be offering a separate menu that only uses locally grown/raised produce and meat.
Driftwood Crotchers (drift-wud kroch-ers)
noun
1."Gangsta chicks" who shove stolen merch from Yorkdale Mall down their panties.
2. Is Rosie DiManno making this shit up?
Toronto hosted the NHL Awards last night at the Elgin Theatre. The big winner was Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins, who took home the Hart Memorial Trophy, the Lester B. Pearson Award and the Art Ross Trophy.
Happy Pride Week, everyone! On that note, a group of retired Canadian Anglican Archbishops call for same-sex unions to be blessed. I smell a schism.

re: Ontario sourced menu:
Michael Potter of Harvest restaurant in Picton's taken this very approach since opening his Milford Bistro in the county a couple of years ago - called "The Hundred Mile Menu" - sourcing locally grown produce and meat is the impetus, and the results are spectacular.
One concern - will Il fornello be charging a "premium" for the local menu? Theoretically, there should be some savings in sourcing locally . . .
I'm pretty sure this story on the "crotchers" should read YorkGate mall, not Yorkdale, as Yorkgate is right at Jane/Finch. Not the first time a Star article would have an inaccurate detail, though.
There's already a toll road in Toronto, it's called the 407.
