Yes! The image above, taken at last year's MMVAs and courtesy of Much Music, is just a mere taster of the kind of reaction Torontoist's legions of adoring fans will make when we stroll down the red carpet on our way to liveblog this year's Much Music Video Awards from on-site. Who cares about seeing live performances from Avril Lavigne, Billy Talent, The Used and more! When you can instead sit in front of your computer and read about us recounting said live performances in our trademark snarky manner?
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. this Sunday with the red carpet arrivals, with the show proper beginning at 9 p.m. Expect us to be liveblogging through the lot of it, trusting the wireless internet works, we find somewhere to plug our laptop in, and nothing else goes drastically wrong.
Hey! It'll be live! The possibility it's all going to come crumbling down around our ears is part of the fun. So check back with us on Sunday night!

All the 12 year old Torontoist readers will be at the MMVA, so why bother liveblogging it? ~jokesies
I have an irrational pet peeve for all "... video awards". The "best video" is never the best video, it's the most popular song that got a video. The *video* itself is irrelevant, often garbage, and that's a shame.

Jimmys question is far more valid but I'll make a stab at Davids. Much Music and the music they play are for teeny boppers like those in the photo here. No one here cares. Live blogging this is a waste of effort just like the Oscars live blogging was because anoyone that does care is watching it on tv.
The best way to diversify Torontoist's readership is... to keep writing for a narrow subset of the city? Hardly.
High school students spend more hours online than twentysomethings, giving them more time to read blogs like Torontoist!

True, doesn't mean giving time to the MMVAs is a good thing though. That whole channel is one big ad and the hook is pandering to high school students' desires and insecurities about being cool.
Although to be fair, I can't wait to find out if bad-ass Avril will show her bad ass this year. Fascinating stuff.
Young Person: I guarantee that once you get out of high school you'll never watch Much Music again.
