The Daily Photoist: King’s College Circle

Every weekday, we pick an image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It’s our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!

For some students, attending a University can feel like living in a bubble and Toronto can be no exception. This fantastic panorama of King’s College Circle at the University of Toronto by wvs (otherwise known as Sam of Daily Dose of Imagery, one of Toronto’s most prolific photobloggers) offers a perspective that no person could gain in the centre of the field on their own.
Having your world revolve around the circle isn’t difficult with sports facilities, dining options, entertainment, and many Faculty buildings about the circle. University College, Hart House, Convocation Hall, several Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering buildings, the Department of English, and the Gerstein Science Information Centre are among the bunch, making it also inevitable that you will cross paths with friends.

We are extremely lucky to have Sam in Toronto for ourselves!

It’s as if we’re our own little planet.
    Wait. We’re not?

I should have also mentioned that I’m particularly enamoured with the meshing of grass in the centre. It’s really just amazing work.

Hmm, I quoted the opening few lines of the theme song to “The Little Prince” cartoon but the comment was never posted. Was the reference lost? He lived on a tiny planet, small enough to walk all the way around in a minute.
