Live Baby Live: June 25–July 1

After a brief hiatus due to NxNE and Bonnaroo, Live Baby Live is back! You're excited, aren't you? Don't deny it.

As always, lots of recently announced shows. Interestingly, you'll notice that all of the horse bands will be through town over the next few months. We wonder what animal trend will be next? Not only that, but The Black Lips and Bloc Party must really love Toronto, since both will be hitting the city again this September. Too bad they're not playing together, because that would make a hella good show.

If you're looking to see only one show this entire week, make it Mavis Staples on Sunday. The soul legend is in town as part of the Toronto Jazz Festival and after seeing her at Bonnaroo earlier this month, we can say without a doubt that she is not to be missed. She will take you there! However, if you're lacking funds and would rather spend your Canada Day at a free show, Do Make Say Think and Final Fantasy are pairing up at the Harbourfront Centre, which should be a guaranteed good time. Or you can stay home listening to the sweet sounds of the kids next door popping off some fireworks and hope they don't burn your house down. Whatev.

Listings after the jump.

carrie,

just for the record it's "Femi Kuti" not "Fem Kuti" ... that would be his lesbian sister i think ...

chris

Thanks, good eye. Fixed!

Actually, it's Rock Plaza Central, not Rock Central Plaza.

Thanks...I swear, I think I f*ck up their name every time for some weird reason.

Woohoo! LBL is back!
