Deadly Richmond Street Crime-Prevention Squad, Illegal Daycares, Sopranos Finale, Dodgers Hate Canadians

Young gangsters from the suburbs! Skanked-out girls in miniskirts! Drunk and angry frat guys! Beware! Toronto has assigned 18 officers to a "rapid deployment team" that will protect the entertainment district from violent crime as part of the Toronto Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy (TAVIS). TAVIS received $5 million this morning to increase officer presence in the area and prevent gun violence.

Conservatives to GO bosses: if we were in power, we'd fire your asses for train delays.

Klara Solodar runs an illegal daycare in Vaughan where children play next to an unfenced pool. When Star reporters showed up at her home for an interview, she bit one of them. Seriously!

The Sopranos aired its series finale last night and every major newspaper is all like, "Oooh, I can't tell you what happened, you'll have to see it for yourself!"

It's Saturday night in Dodger Stadium: the Dodgers are playing the Blue Jays, and about 100 Canadians from a social group called Canadians Abroad show up to support their countrymen. One brings a Canadian flag to wave in the stands and security sends down 3 or 4 LAPD to stop him. A small riot ensues. Mr. Raditch from Degrassi High was one of the expatriates present and comments, "It was totally insane. I could not believe what I was seeing. Over a flag!" However, the Dodgers' stadium operations manager Lon Rosenberg argues that flags of any kind are banned in the facility.

Yeah, because that kid with the glowsticks is really a threat to public safety.
Hee hee!

"Lon Rosenberg argues that flags of any kind are banned in the facility."

Except for American Flags, one would assume. Can you imagine the ruckus if BMO field, ACC, or Rogers centre banned visiting Americans from waving one of their flags? Suddenly, Congress would declare no more Bacon on the burgers in the commisary, and only PBR be served at licensed events!

No, apparently American flags are not allowed either.

But somehow I doubt security would stop anyone from waving an American flag.

You linked to a Prince Harry article from the Star, instead of the illegal daycare one.

Thanks Steph, all fixed.

As one of Klara Solodar's neighbours, I can assure you she is a very scarey lady. What I can't believe are the number of parents still bringing their kids to her house for childcare. You have to wonder about these parents
