Finally, the OPP got Facebook! Unfortunately, it’s not what you think; they’re not spending their time friending, poking, and tagging. No, they’re up to serious business… they’re “fighting parties” in Tillsonburg, Ontario (best known for hosting the 2007 Purina National Dog Show).
In an “emerging investigative technique,” the police are scouring the profiles of unsuspecting Tillsonburg youths, looking for parties to crash. But don’t worry, they don’t “object to parties” in general. They’re only out to break up those involving “possible underage drinking, drug use and trespassing on private property.” So, in other words, they object to parties in general. This is Tillsonburg we’re talking about. How else do you expect these kids to get their kicks? (Although we hear those Purina afterparties can get pretty crazy!)
One of the parties that concerned the police had 700 people on the invite list (25 percent of the entire school population), and the invitation page featured a picture of “passed-out partygoers lying on a debris-strewn field.” Hey, now you know why Tillsonburg was voted by the National Post as number 75 on the top 100 places to visit in Canada!
