Live Baby Live - Week of May 3

livebabylivebanner10.jpg

Aaaand, we're back! Live Baby Live had a false start a few weeks ago, but we're officially back in action now and have changed things up a bit. The listings will now appear on the site mid-week and run from Thursday to Wednesday.

We're starting to sound like a broken record, but once again, there is definitely no shortage of recently announced shows this week. Good to see Brit 'it girls' The Pipettes returning to town at a larger venue after their impossible to get into show at The Rivoli during CMW. What a mess that was! Oy! The ever-talented Jack White will be bringing the Icky Thump to Molson Amphitheatre when The White Stripes play there in early July. That show should be all sorts of awesome...we're definitely looking forward to it. Oh, and you won't want to miss Def Leppard rockin' out with Kim Mitchell mid-July. Wha?! Does anyone else feel like they're back in grade 7?

Best bets for this week include Eric Warner's Over The Top Fest, which starts tonight and runs through Sunday. We'll have plenty of coverage, so stay tuned! If you're a Jeff Buckley fan, there are two tribute shows at the Rivoli this weekend, which may be hit or miss, depending on whether or not you think anyone else could do justice to his music. Peter, Bjorn & John will be whistling their way through town on Sunday evening, along with Au Revoir Simone and Fujiya & Miyagi, which should make for one excellent show. Finally, on Wednesday, Kill The Lights will be at the El Mo...their new album is really fantastic, so we're looking forward to checking them out live.

If we've left anything out or you'd like to send a tip or upcoming show announcement, let us know in the comments or send an email to carrie@torontoist.com.

Listings after the jump.
