Elderly On Everest, Mourning Jordan Manners, Arsoniadis On Trial, Stupid Spoiled Dogs

A 69-year-old Newmarket man scaled Mount Everest, making him the oldest Canadian to conquer the peak. Makes you feel kind of guilty for wheezing at the top of the staircase, eh?

The city struggles to cope with the shooting of 15-year-old Jordan Manners at C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute on Wednesday. Classes were cancelled yesterday, but the school remained open for grief counselling. The boy's family grieves, classmates mourn via Facebook, and Rosie DiManno writes "melodramatic, true-crime pulp novel"-style columns. "The sad reality is that Toronto is now a city with guns," says Rod Cohen of Riverdale's Blake Boultbee Youth Outreach Service.

"I severed and boiled her head in self-defense!" A likely story, George Arsoniadis.

There will be a high tea for dogs at the King Edward hotel on June 3. I hate dog owners.
