Canines With Cancer Wanted For Year’s Most Adorable Photo-op

2007_05_11_rupert_buddha2.jpgIf your dog is a cancer survivor, the folks who bring you Woofstock want to meet it. They’re organizing the Doggie High Tea, a 50-dog tea party for dogs who’ve had cancer, complete with cookies and specially brewed “tea” (their quotation marks, probably best not to ask). The event will also feature the Doggie Designer Challenge, where “8 Doggie Designers will present their most fetching outfits.” Fetching. That’s cute.
The event will take place on June 3 at the King Edward Hotel on King Street, and admission is free with a donation to the Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust Fund in support of canine cancer research. Participant space is limited, so if you and Rex want to grab a cuppa, make a reservation now at info@woofstock.ca.
Most cats would just hiss and scratch you if you organized a tea party for them, but dogs, God love ‘em, really get a kick out of this stuff, so reserve your space now.
Photo: Studies show that meditation provides tangible health benefits for humans. Research on dogs has thus far been inconclusive.

My hamster died of cancer. That was in 1999. I miss him.
