When Windy, Fly a Kite

Despite the bitter temperatures as of late, the windy weather is perfect for kite flying! Toronto Kite Fliers is seeking kite enthusiasts to participate in the first monthly TKF and Spitfire Fun Fly of the year at Downsview Park this Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

The Toronto Kite Fliers hosts events not only in the GTA but in surrounding communities as well, such as the Four Winds Kite Festival in Maple and Milliken Park’s International KiteFest. Other events include kite flying and kite fighting competitions, and kite construction workshops.

The TKF membership fee is only $12 per year, but it’s not required that you join. Just buy a kite from a store like Mastermind Toys or make your own and show up for an afternoon of fanciful flight.
