It’s not f!u!n!n!y! But it’s right, in a way. Go to any Radio Shack clone and you’ll see plenty of “ghetto blasters” on the shelves, all suped up models with fancy light shows and plastic moulding, so I think the ghetto blaster lifestyle is what has fallen out of circulation.
Can it be revived? Ghetto Blaster (public) parties?

The iPod HiFi (I think?) is a pretty sweet ghetto blaster, as far as ghetto blasting is concerned. It has amazing bass reflex and clear sound, so you can bump the Chantal Chamandy before you go on your VIP trip to Egypt.

i picked up a totally flippin’ sweet ghetto blaster at sally-ann last summer.
it only plays tapes though, so i can’t play my #1 hit single chantal charmandy cd i picked up at dollarama for only a dollar.

I’ve noticed this trend lately, and it’s so obnoxious–people listening to terrible, tinny-sounding music out of a speaker on their cell phone in a public place. I’d be more annoyed if it wasn’t so pathetic.

The music industry is also recording music with headphones and crappy mp3 players in mind.
Personally, I miss the analog days. I like buttons and switches and cool lighted dials.

Analog recordings are a whole different realm IMHO .. digital is just a carbon copy .. Analog recordings just sound more “full” .. prob. because they’re not made up of distinct samples but a continuous recording instead.
