Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It’s our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve!

Fire is becoming a fairly regular occurrence in Toronto and is keeping local fire fighters on their toes. But of course, photographers are also hot on their heels to document the action and they often come out with some amazing shots.
In February, loregan captured this image of a lone fire fighter in a slight state of vulnerability with his helmet removed. A large wall of dense smoke encroaches on his space and Torontoist expects it to fully envelop him quickly. With the fire fighter dwarfed by the massive clouds, the scene is quite discouraging.
