Idiot ex-Green candidate complains that party refuses to support him just because he wrote how he thought the 9/11 attacks were "beautiful." The best part is that Kevin Potvin claims that this is proof that the Greens don't know how to handle a scandal. uh, they punted your butt off the party in about a day, jackass.
Ontario voters will get the chance to vote in a referendum for mixed-member proportional government. If it wins, we get the thing we all want: more politicians! Hooray!
Canadian equivalent of the DCMA possibly in the works. Because what we seriously needed was a Canadian equivalent of a bad American law that doesn't work and that nobody actually likes.
Indian-Torontonians catered to by a real estate company specializing in Indian real estate. Actual quote: "Rather than retiring here and shovelling snow, I'd rather go there and have one or two servants." Nothing says luxurious retirement like servants!
Disturbia racks up $23 million in weekend box office over mostly weak competition. In particular, Pathfinder, the Karl Urban movie where he is a Viking warrior, only earned a little under five million dollars despite a very wide release. On Karl Urban's MySpace, fans react by telling him he can get a free Target gift card if he clicks on a spam link.
A wonderfully insulting column in the Globe about Let's All Hate Toronto here. Money quote: "I suspect this is largely because Vancouver is where failed Torontonians go to die." YEAH! SUCK ON THAT, HIPPIES!
And the Raptors clinched home court advantage last night as they beat the Knicks.

Potvin seems to have forgotten that freedom of speech does not confer freedom from consequences nor does it require anyone else to agree. Since a Political party is, in it's essence a group of people who voluntarily join together around a core of common stated beliefs it's both reasonable and desirable that a party ejects him when his beliefs clearly do not align with those of the party, he retains freedom of speech in that he has the right to run as an independent and/or form his own policitical party around his ideas. Simply kicking him out is much truer to the true ideal of free speech than forcing him to make a lip service retraction would be.
The quasi-DCMA bill needs to be killed. When can we get rid of Bushlite and the Republicanettes already?
The Exceptionally Lame Christopher Bird. Your irreverence is shite.
