Live Baby Live - Week of April 9

livebabylivebanner9.jpg

After a short hiatus, Live Baby Live is back on its feet (along with it's author) with an abridged version of the listings this week. Hurrah!

There has been no shortage of concert announcements this year, and it doesn't look like it's going to slow down any time soon. Wilco is back! Meligrove Band! Danny Michel! Modest Mouse! V-Fest has also updated the line-up to include the Arctic Monkeys, Peter, Bjorn & John, Metric, Mute Math and more. So far so good...it's shaping up to be a pretty decent festival.

Best bets for this week include our favourite locals, Tokyo Police Club, tonight at Mod Club...the show is apparently sold out, but if you're really itching to go, you can likely find tickets floating around somewhere. Thursday night is busy with Do Make Say Think creating the most buzz, but you could hit up almost any of the shows that evening and come home happy. Friday night Uncut are playing Sneaky Dee's, and they're always a sure bet for a good show...why they're still playing such small venues is a head-scratcher, though (but we're not complaining). Finally, on Saturday you can catch one of Great Lake Swimmers' two shows at Church of the Redeemer, which should provide amazing acoustics. Keep an eye on the site over the next few days to win tickets to a number of the shows playing this week...we have a lot to give away!

Did we miss a show? Let us know in the comments, or email your tips and suggestions to carrie@torontoist.com.

A great trio of locals, The Rural Alberta Advantage, Barons and Lengthy, and Basement Arms, play Sneaky Dee's Thursday night for $5. I give this my two-thumbs up special!

The lovely Emily Weedon and Delta are releasing a 5 song CD tonight at the Cameron.
