If Torontoist wasn’t looking after the kids tonight, we’d be checking out The End of the Internet. The End is scheduled tonight at The Press Club (850 Dundas Street West) for precisely 9 p.m. The upstart, performance-based reading series, which has been ending the Internet for almost a year now, is hosted by man-about-town Louis Calabro.

Tonight, Brian Joseph Davis performs his “first ever laptop gig” with dulcet sounds he has produced over the last few years. The show will include the world premiere of his "Sony/BMG End User License Agreement scored for a women's choir," which is a collaboration with Dawn E. Lewis. It will be your last chance to hear the piece until The Definitive Host, a 52-minute CD of all the music and sound projects that Brian has created since 2004, is released in June.

Brian is one of those multi-talented artists/writers who works in many different media: you have likely heard about his projects, but might not connect them to the same artist. An overview of his body of work certainly doesn’t fit into a sound-bite or even the confines of this post. Visit his well-designed website for a clearer picture, but if you like experimental art, music, and writing, prepare to spend some time.

Also on the bill is auctioneer R.J. Johnston doing something called "a surreal auction," Jon McCurley of NO FACE, NO PROBLEM, Poor Pilgrim music series organizer Matt Culley…and a live parrot. There are unconfirmed reports of a parrot at The End of The Internet, and we feel fine.
