Baird Slams Gore, Trudeau Builds Rapport, Toronto FC Still No-Score

meritbadges.jpgSay you work in government, and a famous environmentalist attacks the environmental plan you've put together, calling it a sham. Do you defend it on the merits? Well, if you're Environment Minister John Baird, no—instead you attack Al Gore with a "you weren't any better" retort. Because Al Gore was Vice President, seven years ago, of a different country! Also, he has a big house and is now kind of fat!

It's official: Justin Trudeau will run as a Liberal candidate for Parliament in the Montreal riding of Papineau. Which is keen! Now, all Torontoist needs to know is why the CBC's website considered this "Toronto news." Do we really, really like Justin Trudeau more than the rest of the nation? Is that it?

David Miller says Toronto builders could face mandatory green standards by the end of the year. Is this in response to the Toronto Star article over the weekend that said he was a big enviro-wimp compared to Chicago mayor Richard Daley? Answer: Possibly! (Or, more accurately, who knows?)

Ralph Klein says something dumbassed. In other news, Pope still Catholic.

Toronto FC loses its home opener. But the crowd was extremely into it and cheered loudly, which is remarkable because outside of Leafs playoffs and the occasional big-name Blue Jay begging fans to cheer, when does that ever happen?

Anything that comes out of this guy's mouth makes me reach for the gravol, as anyone who remembers his contribution to gutting funding for the people most in need of help in this Province.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could trade Baird for Gore and make Gore the Prime Minister?
